Soldier Radio-Multifunctional (SR-M)

When the mission depends on connectivity look to Soldier Radio-Multifunctional (SR-M). It is a wearable, mobile ad hoc networking combat communications system capable of simultaneous voice, data, and video operation in extreme environments.

A true Multiband (VHF, UHF, and L-band) system, the SR-M provides tactical edge connectivity between Soldiers, vehicles, aircraft, unmanned systems, and ships. Communicate on-the-move at greater bandwidths, over multiple hops, at longer ranges with improved security.

Reducing the Soldier’s workload

The Exelis SR-M is an extremely capable Software Defined Radio (SDR) created to multiply the operational capability of users. Operators have one click power on and preset mission selection simplifying use and menu driven options allowing additional capabilities for more experienced users. Planners retain access to full waveform and radio service configurability. Our dual community-of-interest capability allows selected leaders to simultaneously listen to two different voice nets and have Push-To-Talk (PTT) access with each one independently.

SR-M is fully programmable, designed to host state-of-the-art JTRS waveforms, and has a programmable cryptographic subsystem. Capabilities range from simple PTT voice for communication within a team to automatic Global Information Grid (GIG) connectivity supporting real-time Situational Awareness (SA) information exchange. SR-M supports narrowband and wideband waveforms with coverage in the tactical VHF, UHF and L-band frequency ranges, supports an external amplifier for range extension, and advanced features like tiered gateway.
