Vincent Thomas

Vice President of Operations, Exelis Inc.

Vincent Thomas is Vice President of Operations for Exelis Inc., a diversified, top-tier global aerospace, defense and information solutions company. He assumed that role upon the company’s October 2011 spin off from ITT Corporation.

In this role since October 2005, Thomas has responsibility for a range of strategic and operational activities including the integrated management system, information technology, operations, integrated supply chain, quality, facilities, acquisition integration, six-sigma & lean manufacturing along with other organizational and process improvement initiatives.

Thomas joined the Exelis Night Vision business, then ITT Electro-Optical Products Division, in 1986. Since that time, he has held management positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing, industrial engineering, purchasing and production & inventory control. During the acquisition of K and M Electronics in 1999, he was appointed Director of Business Transition and was responsible for leading the integration of K and M into the Night Vision business unit. More recently, as Vice President & Director of Operations at Night Vision, he was responsible for operational management of the business which included manufacturing, purchasing, production & inventory control and facilities engineering management functions. Prior to joining ITT, Thomas was employed in the automotive industry.

Thomas received his bachelor’s of science degree in biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University. He is a three-time ITT Silver Pin of quality award recipient, and a 1999 Ring of Quality winner for his work in developing and bringing into production the new rugged helmet mount for night vision goggles under the U.S. Army’s Omnibus V program.
