Christopher D. Young
Executive Vice President and President of Geospatial Systems, Exelis Inc.
Christopher (Chris) D. Young is Executive Vice President and President of Geospatial Systems for Exelis Inc., a global supplier of innovative night vision, remote sensing and navigation solutions that provide sight and situational awareness at the space, airborne, ground and soldier levels. He assumed that role upon the company’s October 2011 spin off from ITT Corporation.
Young first joined Exelis, then an operating segment of ITT called Defense & Information Solutions, in 1982. Previously, Young was the President and General Manager of ITT Space Systems Division, a position held since April 2006. Prior to this position, Young served as vice president and director for ITT Space Systems’ Commercial & Space Sciences group in Fort Wayne, Ind. In 2003, he was named Director, Space Programs for ITT Aerospace/Communications Division. He served in a series of managerial and project engineering positions before he was named director of space engineering for Aerospace/Communications Division in 2001.
Young is a member of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and the National Space Club. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Ohio State University and has taken graduate studies in the master of business administration program at Indiana University.
