CLIFTON, N.J., Oct. 12, 2011 — ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) has received a $69 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite quantity contract to provide Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) ground mobile antennas for the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. The SINCGARS vehicle antenna will provide ground forces with advance situational awareness and increase soldier survivability during missions.
“With this award from the Defense Supply Center, Columbus, Ohio, more ground vehicles will be equipped with our high-performance antenna, which will help to solve communication challenges for our customer,” said Chris Bernhardt, ITT Electronic Systems president. “Our proven antenna technology will enable the warfighter to move with confidence through different environments in any weather condition.”
The robust SINCGARS ground mobile antenna is designed for military applications and is mounted to a spring assembly that absorbs shock and impact, quickly returning it to its proper vertical position for operation. The antenna is also available in a tripod version, which can be deployed on ground mobile vehicles or fixed sites.

SINCGARS is the most widely fielded tactical radio among U.S. forces with more than 530,000 radios delivered and in use on more than 120 ground vehicle types. The delivery of antennas is a key part of the sustainment of SINCGARS helping to extend service life to meet the Army’s long-term fielding plans for the radio.
