McLEAN, Va., Feb. 1, 2012—Alan Leibowitz, Director of Environment Safety Health & Security (ESH) for ITT Exelis (NYSE:XLS), has been recognized as a top leader in the environmental health and safety world by his inclusion in the Industrial Safety and Health News (ISHN) magazine’s ”Power 101”. Over the course of his career, Leibowitz has held positions of increasing responsibility, leading industrial hygiene, environment and safety, and serving as the director of ethics and compliance before becoming the executive director of Environmental Safety Health & Security (ESH&S) at ITT Corporation.

Leibowitz received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Drexel University, a master’s degree in environmental science from Drexel University, and has completed extensive postgraduate work at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. He is also a certified Safety Professional and a certified Industrial hygienist. Leibowitz sits on the Board of Directors of the American Industrial Hygiene Association and has won numerous industry awards and recognitions for his career achievements.
